ABOUT Illuminism Workshops

The Mission of Illuminism

1. To provide professionals and others involved in an artistic career such as teachers, decorators, designers with new technical
and conceptual possibilities in the medium of aquarelle.

2. The workshops serve to introduce non-professional artists into the world of painting from the mysteries of color. These students benefit greatly by discovering a new relationship to levels of vision. The world around them as presented by color opens up significantly and reveals much more beauty and wonder.

3. There is a strong self-developmental or healing dimension to this artistic practice.
It is a way of grasping anthroposophy that is not totally verbal.
Yet it is a discipline that can enhance spiritual awareness significantly.

A UNIQUE COURSE in ILLUMINISM PAINTING
OFFERED BY LESZEK FORCZEK:

The Illuminism Workshop Series (IWS)

For many years, there has been little opportunity to study Illuminism in America. This has been addressed by the development of the IWS, the Illuminism Workshop Series. This is a series of carefully planned workshops which guides participants systematically through the various stages of artistic development as relevant to this style of painting. Although the course is rich in the methodology of multi-veiled watercolor painting, its real emphasis is on inner enrichment, transforming the way we relate to our sense of sight and how we respond to the world around us. Because of its unique approach and content, this workshop series can be rewarding and challenging to all levels of participants.

To date, IWS has been conducted in 11 cities, coast-to-coast. Participants have enjoyed the rewarding opportunity to build their skills and artistic sensitivity seasonally over an extended period of time. This exceptional painting course can be conducted in the convenience of your own community. The course covers the major relevant artistic techniques, benefits, and philosophy of Illuminism as it moves through the three themes of Landscape, Floral and Figural Painting. Besides the three-part, twelve weekend seasonal series, other workshop arrangements are available.

If you are interested in learning more about this exciting opportunity to become an Illuminism Workshop Coordinator and bring IWS into your community, or if you have other inquiries as to Illuminism lectures, slide shows, introductory workshops, or Summer Zen Stone & Michael Color Immersions, contact Casse Forczek, National Coordinator at
707-824-2238 or email   CasseStar@aol.com  for Prelude to Illuminism's Workshop Series.

Illuminism is inspired by the profound and joyous union of the
Natural World with the Inner Spiritual World:  "As above, so below."

Color & The Foundation of the Human Soul

Educators and therapists are realizing that there is much to support the reasons why Art is so deeply integrated throughout the thriving Waldorf curriculum. However, the need to provide the human being with the healing and life engendering radiance of art does not begin in grade school and end at high school. The reality is that the typical aesthetically deprived post-modern parent and working adult often needs the healing forces of art more than the kids! Art and beauty support and preserve
our youth forces which is key to our health, vitality and enthusiasm.

I believe that Art is synonymous with inner development and healing. Art can become the a luminous
"bridge over troubled water" facilitating the much needed balance between the ever-widening
dichotomy which separat
es the our outer and inner lives. In our techno-informational culture,
the practice of an art becomes increasingly integral to our health, wholeness and social sensitivity.

- Jennifer Marshall, Health Practioner at Napa State Hospital writes
"I want to thank you ever so much for inviting me into your home for the weekend.
It was certainly a delightful weekend filled with wonderful meals,
friendship and most of all inspiration. Leszek, your workshop was as challenging
as it was spiritual, inspiring and motivating."

- Colleen Chen, Law Student, University of Berkeley:
"I had some unrealistic expectations about what
I'd be able to paint by the end of the weekend.
Based on the website, I thought these paintings were entirely student done!!
However, I'm happy with this introduction to watercolor and this style in particular,
as I've never seen a painting style that's attracted me more.

I learned the reasons for this attraction,
which has to do not only with the visual aesthetics,
but with the spiritual component encompassing the work.
I also got clued into the rudiments of the technique
and am motivated to go home and experiment . . .
A wonderful weekend - thank you both!"

- Tina Jalalian, lluminism Graduate student and Real Estate Broker:
This was the best of all "landscape workshops" I have participated with Mr. Forczek!
The experience of the Goat Rock beach was fabulous. Now I can see and feel the landscape.
I also learned about the meditative aspect of painting.

Seeing Leszek's painting studio, tasting delicious
and such fulfilling food, hearing the heart warming
music...was truly a unique experience for all my senses.

The things I learned in this workshop are never
possible to learn within a classroom.
I feel so grateful that I had this opportunity.
